A Quick Plug for 826CHI from Alison Kuczwara

April 14, 2014

For our next edition of Creative Spaces, I have interviewed Alison Kuczwara, the design and branding brain behind Tiny Bold. As we chatted over tea, Alison mentioned her work with 826 CHI and their upcoming “prom” fundraiser.

Though Alison’s Creative Spaces feature won’t run until May, this fabulous event is at the end of April and I’d be remiss if I didn’t plug it on her behalf.

Every year, 826CHI, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students through creative expression, holds a prom. Just like your favorite high school rite of passage, the 826CHI prom has a theme. Unlike your senior prom, this prom has cocktails of which you can legally imbibe.

“You get to dress in costume, drink and dance…all for the kids!” says Kuczwara, perfectly summing up how simple and yet awesome 826CHI Prom is.

This year’s prom, Prom 9 From Outer Space is clearly science fiction themed with a stylistic nod to The Twilight Zone.

The intergalactic fundraiser to benefit 826CHI will be held Saturday, April 26th at the St. Vincent de Paul Center gymnasium. Tickets are $55 for one, $100 for two, $60 at the door. You can purchase tickets in advance on their website.

Pick up some tickets, put together a costume and go support creativity and literacy among young students.

Bonus: Here’s a super fun video promo 826CHI put together for the event:
