Happy 2013.
I feel like New Years Resolutions are best made on one’s birthday, rather than
on the birthday of a new year, but I’ll play into tradition and make a few promises for the upcoming year.
Write. Perform. Record. Read. Publish. Tap. Snuggle.
It’s that simple. I want to create and keep on creating and seek out opportunities to learn to create more things.
Those are pretty consistent goals for my daily life, but the new year gives me an opportunity to profess them to the world and get myself back on track.
This year I’ll complete Second City’s Conservatory program, start performing with a new improv team, record my voice over demo and hopefully find many more outlets for performance. [And meet even more fabulously talented Chicagoans]
I also hope to publish an e-book. Whether it’s a children’s book or a collection of short stories and poetry, I really want to explore the world
of self-publishing.
I’m determined to collaborate with Justin Younger again, if only for another epic Christmas card.
Last, but certainly not least, the one resolution that I didn’t get to in 2012: tap. I miss tap dancing. Not only do I love it as a form of expression, it’s also one of the best cardio routines around. I found a studio to take classes through again, the trick is finding the time and energy to go take them.
I’m also planning to pick back up the saxophone…but we’ll see.
